11 Fitness for Sports performance: You have to use the knowledge you gained from your PEP to discuss how to improve the performance you see by improving the competitors fitness. This might be on anyone you may see playing – or may be general. Use the table below to prepare.. List 3 key fitness components for your sport and say why important Describe how the above fitness components are tested – why test? Give an example of 3 types of training methods to improve each of the above fitness components – be specific: mention HR zones, sets & reps, work: rest intervals, exercise FITT List the principles of training and apply to the above training methods. Describe an appropriate warm up / cool down for your sport. Explain dietary implications for your sport.

14 LEVEL Criteria 4 A* I am very proficient at analysing performance I can link skills to muscles / bones / joints / energy systems etc – I can use movement terms such as flexion / extension to describe skills, and use all principles of training to describe appropriate training including SMART targets, and Principles. I can confidently lead the discussion 3 A/B I have several ideas about … a sports performance I can explain the rules of the again, and link them to possible tactics. I can describe what a performance should be, what a performer is doing, and what they can do to get better, in terms of skill, tactics and fitness. I may need some prompting in interview 2 C D I can describe some rules, and tactics. I can describe what I see in a performance, I might be able to suggest what is wrong with it and maybe what needs improving I might know some fitness components 1 E F I have one or two ideas. I know a couple of rules, and tactics; I know a couple of skills, and maybe fitness components
