2 Key Stage 3 Assessment In years 7, 8, & 9 you are assessed under the 4 following standards: 1. Acquiring and Developing skills. Practising and improving existing, and learning new, techniques and skills. Using these in different activities. 2. Selecting and Applying skills, tactics and compositional ideas. Plan strategies to make you or your team more successful. Plan and compose sequences/phrases of movement. Adapt these if they could be improved. Apply rules and conventions for different activities. 3. Evaluating and Improving Performance Analyse your own and others' work. Give feedback. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the performance you observed. 4. Knowledge and Understanding of Fitness and Health Do you know how to warm up and cool down for an activity? What parts of fitness are needed to be successful at different sports? Why should we take part in regular exercise? Why do we need to be hygienic? Do you know where to go or who to ask if you want to do more activities in your free time?

3 K.S. 3 Attainment Levels Levels range from 1 to 8 with also an exceptional performance level. 1 is low 8 is high! In each activity you do this year you will be given a level. You will have an attainment level as a target which will be commented upon twice a year in your report. At the end of year 9 you will be given a final attainment level.

4 What Level am I? Look at the level descriptors on the board and try and work out your level. Your level can be further broken down into A, B, & C. A is high and C is low. YOU NEED TO KNOW YOUR LEVEL AND HOW TO IMPROVE! Ex 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

6 Key Stage 4 Assessment At Key Stage 4, you are assessed under the 4 following standards: 1 Acquiring and Developing skills. Develop more advanced skills. Using these in more demanding activities. 2 Selecting and Applying skills, tactics and compositional ideas. Plan and use advanced strategies. Use rules more confidently than in KS3. 3 Evaluating and Improving Performance Give reason for your choice of role in different activities. Judge how successful a performer is and give feedback. Develop Leadership skills.4 Knowledge and Understanding of Fitness and Health Design and carry out a training programme for a specific activity of your choice. Monitor your progress in and out of school time. Decide what the role of physical activity, and its' importance in your life, will be. You will be given an attitude grade, A – E, and also a performance grade A – G on the 4 standards below and the GCSE marking criteria.
