1 Review Absolute Value on a Number Line 1.As closure to the lesson on absolute value and the location of the integers on the number line, students will receive a task card with a problem on it, and a QR code in the corner. 2.Student will work the problem on the task card. 3.Once the student has completed the problem, he/she will scan the QR code to check his/her answer. Students will complete task card and review answer by scanning the QR code. This task uses: iPad QR Codes Learning Objective(s): The student can identify absolute value of rational numbers. The student can interpret absolute value as magnitude for a positive or negative quantity in a real- world situation. 2 Number Lines 1.Student will receive iPad and will open number line app. 2.Student will complete app activity where they will be presented an integer and must identify the point on the number line where that point lies. This task uses: iPad Learning Objective(s): The student can identify absolute value of rational numbers. The student can interpret absolute value as magnitude for a positive or negative quantity in a real- world situation A AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Students will use virtual number lines to place integers.

3 Whole-Class Integer Quiz 1.Student will receive an Activote. 2.A review for test will be presented on slides, one problem per slide. 3.Students will work out each problem on looseleaf and use their Activote to enter their answers. 4.Review of missed problems will take place following the quiz, with the teacher using the Activslate to demonstrate how to work the problems. As part of a test review, questions will be presented via flipchart slides. Students will select their answers using their Activote. 4 Integer Lesson Live 1.Students will be placed in groups of three. 2.The group will be given an integer problem on a task card. 3.The group will then view a Khan Academy tutorial on how to solve a similar problem. 4.Group will collaborate to solve the problem, use his/her own methods. 5.Group will decide upon a correct answer and one method to use to demonstrate how to solve it. 6.Students will then create their own tutorial using one of the apps presented by the teacher. 7.Students will present their video to the class. 8.The tutorials will be uploaded to the teacher’s Blackboard website to be viewed by other classes. Students replicate the strategy of creating a tutorial video.
