2 Classroom Guidelines 1.Golden Rule 1.“Do onto others as you would have done onto you.” 2.Be in your assigned seat working when the bell rings (not a second after) and do not wait by the door at the end of class. 3.Follow all school policies! ***Failure to follow these guideline will result in a “Guideline Infraction Notice”*** a. Read it, Sign it, and turn in at end of class!

4 Classroom Procedures 1.Enter quietly 2.Have your seat 3.Take out your materials 4.Review the agenda (Posted on the board or Moodle) 5.Write down the days objective** 6.Begin Bellwork Assignment 7.Monday and Friday we share good news* 8.Last 6 minutes of class is time to complete your classroom assigned job

5 Getting the Students attention A simple hand raised means: 1.Eyes on the speaker 2.Mouth is quiet 3.Body is still 4.Ears listening 5.Hands are free of any objects

6 Homework Assignments Label in the UPPER RIGHT CORNER with: Name: Date: Class/Hour: If you have an excused absence retrieve the assignment from the homework notebook *Sign and date the notebook so that I know that you received your assignment Didn’t do your homework? Grab a pink slip! Fill it out, sign it, and turn it in (You may get an opportunity to make it up!)

7 What do I do if I finish my work early? Work on your VOCAB! Read a book from the library To show “Continuing learning” work on an independent research topic with the approval of Mr. Krepp This is independent work and has no effect on your grade but there is a reward at the end of the year for effort and performance!

8 Turning in Homework When teacher asks, pass papers forward the end of the row! If you did not do the homework turn in the pink slip and see me after class! Late homework=half credit

9 Classroom Discussions Please participate!!!!!!!!! Keep questions relevant When someone else is speaking you are listening (see Golden Rule) Be respectful when stating your opinion, you are neither right, nor are you wrong

10 Classroom Community Students are assigned small jobs to ensure the classroom is tidy and neat Floor Care Desk and Chair Organizer Board Eraser/Cleaner Assignment Collector

11 Classroom Community Student Jobs Spend time at the beginning of class to share good news Triumphal Arch – Board where great accomplishments can be shared No negativity zone Positive Expectations Allow students a role in setting up class rules

12 Class Dismissal 1.Teacher dismisses you, NOT the bell. 1.Remain in your seats until dismissed 2.I will allow 6 minutes for students to complete their assigned job (jobs rotate we 3.Don’t start packing up until teacher says you are dismissed and may begin packing

14 End of the Year Awards Five major awards that come with a certificate and prize 1.Academic Achievement 2.Community Service 3.Leadership 4.Never Stop Learning 5.Perseverance Accumulate stars to go towards the award (most stars gets the award) Awards will be handed out during our end of the year celebration!

15 Qualifications for Academic Achievement Award 95% or higher To earn a star in the academic achievement column: Turn in all assignments on time during the week Receive 100% on the quiz At least 95% on a test **Gold Star**

16 Qualifications for Community Service Award Star for documented community service activity (picture or signed form) Star for exemplary work doing the assigned job ***Green Star***

17 Qualifications for Leadership Award How to earn stars Star for taking lead while a sub is in Star for tutoring classmates Star for ensuring other students are on task Lead by example star Always in their seat working on bellwork Leads discussion an good news ***RED STAR***

18 Qualifications for the Never Stop Learning Award TWO Stars for a completed research project One star for sharing THREE Latin moments TWO stars for a book report from the Classics library ***SILVER STAR***

19 Perseverance Award Show growth on your final grade Improved quiz scores All homework is turned in (even late work is counted) ***BLUE STAR***

20 Other Awards Perfect Attendance Most School Spirit Most Artistic Best Writer Bookworm
