3. Complete Your Registration 1. Search for your School 2. Enter your Last name and UH Username “Kapiolani Community College” A drop box should then appear with the College’s name which you can click on.

4. Complete Your Profile You can use the KCC Address: 4303 Diamond Head Road, Honolulu HI 96816 Home is the “required” phone number, just use your preferred number.

5. As you create your profile you are given the opportunity to indicate your interests. This section is not required.

6. Set Password and Select Class Group Please be sure to select Service Learning Hours at Kapi‘olani CC as your Mandatory Group.

7. YOUR REGISTRATION IS COMPLETE!

8. Logging on to x2vol for the first time…

9. The first time you log in to x2vol, you will notice a red strip across your dashboard. Don’t worry about it! YOU CAN STILL LOG YOUR HOURS!

10. Join New Groups and Add Goals When you registered, you should have selected the Goal, “Cumulative Total Service-Learning Hours.” Once you are verified, please add the Goal, “Fall 2014.”

11. Log Your Service Hours Add a Personal Project. For every unique service opportunity, go to CREATE NEW. When you are adding hours to a recurring project, just click on ADD HOURS.

12. Creating a Recurring Project Activity Name Example activity name for a recurring project: “Afterschool Tutoring at Palolo Elementary School” Project Description Example project description for a recurring project: “Tutor 2 nd and 3 rd graders in math and language arts.” Recurring project: Check this box if your service is consistently the same. You can add more hours to the same project again and again. The Activity Contact is your supervisor or site contact who can verify your hours. An email will be sent to this person. Phone number is not necessary.

13. Apply your Hours to a Goal: Make sure you select “Organization Goals” and in the box below, select “Apply to all Non- Exclusive Goals” REFLECTIONS: It’s good to include a brief reflection for your own recollection of activities, challenges, observations, accomplishments, emotions, learning opportunities, special moments, etc. CLAIM HOURS: For each entry you will include the date of service and number of hours and minutes you completed. Make sure to check the oath box and leave any comments before you submit your hours.

14. Creating a NON-RECURRING Personal Project Activity Name If you are student doing Malama i na Ahupua‘a (MINA) for example, you could write “MINA: Halawa Valley Heiau” Project Description Briefly describe the activity and perhaps the location. Something that will help you uniquely identify this activity. You can elaborate in your reflection.

16. If you need a report of your hours For a snapshot of your hours, click on the clock icon in your side bar. You can get a PDF printout of all your hours.

17. Sample report of hours Hours your “activity contact” verified. Hours approved by the KS&SL Office (don’t stress about these!)
