MOBILE TECHNOLOGY BY: AMANDA HANKS

SKYDRIVE VS. DROPBOX SkyDrive: More Free Storage Space (7 GB) Less Costly for more Storage Space $10,$25,$50 Less Secure than Dropbox Supports Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone Platforms Supports MS Office, audio, video, and image files (2 GB file uploads) Keeps files for 30 days Has access to MS Office Web Apps: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and OneNote Let’s users edit and take notes that upload to the cloud

SKYDRIVE VS. DROPBOX Dropbox: Faster uploading speeds Supports Android, Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Linux, and Blackberry Passcode for better security 2 GB Free (More expensive for more storage) (Has recommendation program to get more space) Keeps files for 30 days, and has Facebook integration. This includes syncing, and sharing with Facebook users. Also utilizes the camera upload feature. I believe that Dropbox is better, because it has a faster upload speed, and it all depends on the reasons you use it. I use it for student files. This is much better, because upload speed matter, and I don’t need as much space. I don’t plan on upgrading, so I don’t have to worry about the costs.

GOOGLE DRIVE VS. TRELLO Google Drive: Drag and save hundreds of files on the drive Access from computer or any mobile device it is installed on Android or iOS Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides are built into the drive for editing, and collaboration Files are secure in Google Drive, whether your computer crashes, or your mobile device breaks. Your files are always safe, as long as you keep an active account with Google Drive. FREE!

GOOGLE DRIVE VS. TRELLO Trello: (FREE) Task management Collaborate on projects Updates are updated in real time, making it easier to collaborate on projects with others Keeps track of everything, no matter where you are Can access remotely Cards to track information (Unlimited Cards) Neatly Organized into categories (Personal, Business, Project Management) Attach documents, edit, and collaborate on them Notifications, assign tasks, see what other people are doing/editing iPhone and Android Data is private and sent over the same security system as banks use (HTTPS/SSL) I believe that Google Drive is best for collaborating on documents and projects. It is easier to use. I think you would have to be educated on how to use Trello, as there are many more components. I do think that Trello is more organized, as it has categories. In a business setting, I think either one would work well, but I like Google Drive, because it is more frequently used, and easier to use, and all you have to have is a Google Drive account.

POCKET VS. PINTEREST Pocket: Send SMS messages to your board Use hashtags to categorize All you notes in one place(No folders to search through) Attach any type of file iPhone or Android Free Note-taking and bookmarking 24/7 Support

POCKET VS. PINTEREST Pinterest Collecting and organizing blog posts, or bookmarks Organize your thoughts and ideas Links to Facebook and Twitter Follow other people’s boards to gather information Pin It! (You can pin pictures, bookmarks, and infographics on you board Create many boards by category Share with your followers (interest, school, business, new technology) Pin It Bookmarklet (a feature that lets you bookmark and pin things on your board from other Web sites.) Collaborate-leave comments for other people Promote your business I believe that Pinterest is better for business bookmarking. I like the feature where you’re able to pin or bookmark something from other sources, like Web sites. It allows you to promote your business, and has good marketing, and feedback tools.

POWERPOINT VS KEYNOTE PowerPoint: Used for presentations Can be remotely used with Webex, a mobile conferencing application Can be used with Windows Phone Custom Layouts and Design Animations/Transitions to new slides Templates Used to summarize Mac and Windows (iPhone or Windows Phone) Can play automatically or manually Insert pictures, graphs, text, and charts

POWERPOINT VS. KEYNOTE Keynote: Apple (iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch) 3D animation, image editing, and object masking Accessible from iCloud Can access from any of your apple devices Cost-$9.99 Add photos, movies, audio, transitions, effects, tables, charts Animation-add animation to slides with Magic Move Can hook up to a television Can present remotely I believe that Keynote has more visual features depending on your audience, but I prefer to use PowerPoint. It is very easy to use, and I like the effect features it has for animations, transitions, and adding text, charts, pictures, and tables. I feel that it is easier to use. I am not familiar with the iPhone features. This could be why I would rather use PowerPoint for presentations.

FACEBOOK VS. TWITTER Facebook: Share articles and statuses No character limit Promote products and business Sell items and merchandise Promote yourself-make pages Free Categories for contacts Search to add friends/associates More for personal use EVERY PLATFORM (Android, iOS, Luminous, Blackberry, Windows, etc.)

FACEBOOK VS. TWITTER Twitter: Social networking site Link to Pinterest for marketing and bookmarking Character limit, short and sweet Promote business Follow people to get related news feed Promote your personal brand by getting more followers Use hashtags to link to other pages Good for advertising For business purposes, I believe that Twitter is the better option for social networking. It has the features of Facebook, as well as features similar to the social networking site, LinkedIn, which is another good place to promote your personal brand. I would prefer to use Twitter, because businesses use it more often, and is a much better option than Facebook. Facebook is used more for personal use, and connecting with friends and family.
