2 Where are we? Consider all of the information that you have gathered about Cleopatra. You will be constructing an “Historical Head This will be handed in on Wednesday with your completed KWL chart. You will hand in you Egypt book tomorrow as well. On Wednesday, you will get your Next Book.

3 The End of Cleopatra? - After Caesar is killed she side with Marc Antony. They are married and they have 3 children (1 set of twins) - At Cleopatra’s urging, Marc Antony challenges Caesar’s legal heir (adopted son Octavian). Antony and Cleopatra loose and they commit suicide (Cleopatra allegedly by snakebite.) - Caesarion (the son of Caesar and Cleopatra) is killed by Octavian. The other children are raised by Antony’s wife.

7 Activity: Making an “Historical Head” Due Wednesday, January 12. Use information from the movie and your readings (you may wish to do outside research) Get an outline of Cleopatra’s head. Inside of her head draw pictures or symbols (make sure to number the pictures or symbols) Each picture or symbol should correspond to something that (1)Cleopatra may have been thinking (hopes, dreams, plans) (2) An event or action that had a connection to Cleopatra (3) Something that you think Cleopatra would have said.

8 Activity: Making an “Historical Head” (2) The assignment will be worth 75 points. To get full points you must have 7 symbols total. You must include at least one symbol from each category. On a separate piece of paper you should explain each picture or symbol in 3-4 sentences. What is the symbol why did you write it, what is its connection to Cleopatra’s life? WORK TOGETHER! You may share ideas and information with you classmates. This doesn’t mean just COPY. If you have something you would put in the head, explain it to another classmate. See the example.
