“I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” Exodus 3:3

"Do not come near; put off your shoes from off your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground." Exodus 3:5

“…the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt." Exodus 3:9-10

GOD FREED ISRAEL BECAUSE HE WANTED TO… Exodus 3:7-8 tells us “Then the LORD said, ‘I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey...’”

IN THE SAME WAY IT WAS GOD WHO CHOSE TO FREE US FROM OUR SINS Colossians 3:23 (NASB) “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 (ESV) – “For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. 11 For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. 12 Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.”

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 (ESV) 11 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, 12 so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one. Ecclesiastes 9:10 (ESV) Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going. 1 Timothy 5:8 (ESV) But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

John 3:16 (ESV) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

WE CAN BE GOOD ENOUGH

Titus 3:5 says 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, TNIV

Matthew 15:7-9 - You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: 8 “'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'" ESV Matthew 7:21-23 - 21 "Not everyone who calls out to me, 'Lord! Lord!' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, 'Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.' 23 But I will reply, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God's laws.' Holy Bible, New Living Translation.

GOD FREED ISRAEL BECAUSE HE MADE A PROMISE TO DO SO “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob."... Exodus 3:6 God is a God of promises. God is a God of promises.

Numbers 23:19 says “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”

“Feelings come and feelings go and feelings are deceiving; My strength is in the Word of God, naught else is worth believing.”

2 Corinthians 1:20 tells us “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ…”

GOD FREED ISRAEL TO MAKE THEM HOLY "Do not come near; put off your shoes from off your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground." Exodus 3:5

1 Peter 1:16 God declared: "Be holy, because I am holy."

“set apart”

“set ourselves apart”

George Orwell once observed: “On the whole human beings want to be good, but not too good, and not quite all the time.”
