The Deity of Christ Bedrock of Our Faith

What do the Scriptures teach? Isaiah 9:6-7 Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

What do the Scriptures teach? Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. Luke 1:26-35 Acts 2:22-36 Hebrews 1, 2:9

What do the Scriptures teach? Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Matthew 1:22-23 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

What do the Scriptures teach? John 1:1-3, 14 1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. John 8:48-59; Exodus 3:13-14

If Jesus is not God, the Bible is full of errors. Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images. John 5:22-23 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

If Jesus is not God, the Bible is full of errors. 1 Samuel 2:2 No one is holy like the LORD, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God. Acts 3:13-14 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. 14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

If Jesus is not God, the Bible is full of errors. 1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

If Jesus is not God, the Bible is full of errors. Jesus is not sinless. Hebrews 4:14-15 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

If Jesus is not God, the Bible is full of errors. Jesus is not sinless. Only God is to be worshipped. Matthew 4:9-10 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”

If Jesus is not God, the Bible is full of errors. Jesus is not sinless. Only God is to be worshipped. Jesus accepted worship. Matthew 8:2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him… Matthew 9:18 While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him …

If Jesus is not God, the Bible is full of errors. Matthew 14:33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.” Matthew 28:9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. Mark 5:6 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him. Luke 24:52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

Why do we study this topic? That Jesus is who He claimed to be is the foundation of our faith. Matthew 16:13-18 John 8:24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

Why do we study this topic? Errors about the nature of Jesus have always abounded. 1 John 1:1-3 1 John 4:1-3 Colossians 2:9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily Hebrews 2:14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same,

Why do we study this topic? 2 Peter 3:16 …as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.
