1 Indian Policy By: Courtney

2 Reasons for federal Government’s policy of Indian removal, including trial of tears: Indian Removal : When the colonist made the Indians go onto reservations. This is because they were using our land that we were using for mining, farming and railroads.

3 Manifest Destiny: The belief that the united states has the right to take over all the Indians land. The belief that the land was going to be taken over eventually, and that the colonist had the right to take it over. And our job to civilise them.

4 US expansion west after Civil War/ conflicts in region (US army-dances with wolves, buffalo hunters, boarding schools, etc.)‏ People started moving more west. The army started further west. Like in dances with wolves he was like way west Buffalo hunters wipe out buffalos. Changed the Indian kids. Cant speak own language, cant wear their own clothes, has to cut their hair, nothing to do with their culture.
