19 Exchange studies A formal exchange agreement for exchange students – Linnaeus U + University of X = exchange You don’t pay tuition fees to the host university Within EU – ERASMUS scholarship (European citizenship) Help with information, application and practical issues No language test (TOEFL/IELTS) required, only a few exceptions Alternative: – Study Abroad – FREEMOVER Exchange studies – administered by LNU/ELNU

20 Within the program * you go on an exchange within the designated program semester * you study according to the regulations for that semester * not a lot of ‘freedom’ Gap year * you can go abroad between program years or after your degree * you can combine language and culture studies with other subjects * a way to maximize the value of your exchange studies Double degree (marketing programme) * spend year 3 in Switzerland (FH Bern) and get 2 degrees Exchange studies – different types

21 When can we go on exchanges?

22 Marketing programme * Semester 4 * Semester 5 (mktg specialization 100%) * Year 3 – double degree - Switzerland + hopefully France (2-3 places) - One year abroad - Two degrees (one from us, one from the partner university) - limited placements Master programmes * Entrepreneurship master (2 years) – semester 3 * Innovation master (2 years) – semester 3 * One year masters – not possible

23 How do we apply?

24 Online application Opens beginning of November 3 application rounds (preliminary) December 1 st – exchanges outside of Europe (bilateral, ISEP, ISEP I to I, USAC) February 1 st – exchanges within Europe (Erasmus, Nordlys) Third application round in May/June– only for spring 2017 exchanges

25 Who can go and why?

26 Who is my competition? Everyone. Almost everyone. Will I get a placement? There are no guarantees. An exchange is not a human right, it is a possibility. Do you have enough credits to apply/to go? Who gets which placement? Percentage of passed credits out of all registrations. Percentage of VG out of possible VG. DO NOT FORGET TO APPLY/ACCEPT YOUR PLACEMENT ON TIME!!

33 FAQ Do I have to go if I’ve applied and accepted ? I’d like to go to the same host university as my friend... What do we have in Great Britain? You don’t work with any good schools, do you? Do you work with London School of Economics? Exactly which University can I go to and exactly which courses will I study… I demand…
