The QTEM master is accessible to students Who are in the third year of the following bachelor programmes at BI: Business (Sivøk) Finance Who will enroll in: The Master of Science in Business majors Finance or Economics Who pass a competitive selection procedure GPA of at least B GMAT Interview 4

A Network Master in Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management A network master program of an expanding number of top Schools in Economics and Management Currently 8 Academic partners Each school brings in max. 4 Corporate Partners The QTEM master will educate and provide future decision makers −Highly skilled with analytical and quantitative techniques −Experienced through concrete business and policy challenges −Comfortable in international settings 6

8 QTEM quantitative modules 8 QTEM Modules International Economics and Regulation IT and People Management Marketing And Distribution Analytics Quantitative Finance and Risk Management Quantitative Techniques and Big DataStrategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship * Sources: existing functional practices at consulting firms; existing specializations or programs at Business and Economics Schools (the list of modules can evolve over time) Modules to be decided January 2014 QTEM relies exclusively on existing courses at the Academic Partners A QTEM Participant will be considered "specialized" in a QTEM module when he reaches 20 ECTS of courses belonging to that module across 2 QTEM semesters In this case, the QTEM module will appear on the final QTEM Certificate

13 HOW? INTERNSHIP APPLICATION & SELECTION 13

14 Internship The internship (equivalent to at least 2 months) – Can be from the QTEM Corporate Partners’ network or any other international corporation – this is the QTEM Participant’s own initiative. (Norwegian companies with international profiles are also relevant – subject to prior approval of the QTEM team) – Final report to be delivered to QTEM Team at BI – Timing at the discretion of each QTEM Participant (during or after the 2 years of the master with at least 2 consecutive weeks) BI’s Corporate Partners are: – Accenture – Aker Solutions – The Boston Consulting Group 14

15 QTEM admission and recruitment process This year, BI QTEM Participants are limited to 15 - 20 Application deadline BI: March 1st Students apply for first exchange and rank schools in order of preference Students are ranked based on their GPA, GMAT and an interview All QTEM students compete with students from the other schools and only the best students are guaranteed their first preferences 15

16 QTEM selection criteria Bachelor grades (with a special focus on quantitative courses) At least GPA of B with no grade lower than B for relevant Quantitative courses Level of English Extra-curricular activities Motivation GMAT – GMAT score of 650 strongly recommended – Test taken within the last 3 years – Deadline: the School must receive your official GMAT score APRIL 1st 16

17 GMAT The GMAT test has 4 steps: 1.Schedule to take the GMAT Test – Appointment on the website (www.mba.com)www.mba.com – Price approx. 250 USD – Make your appointment as early as possible in order to meet the April 1 st deadline 2.Prepare yourself – GMAT course organised at BI – Books, internet, … 17

18 GMAT course at BI Six days, intensive course January: 3,4,5 and 10,11,12 Course fee 1200 USD Selected QTEM candidates will get the course fee refunded 18

19 GMAT 3.Take the test – Analytical written assessment + integrated reasoning + quantitative section + verbal section – Duration ≈ 3 hours, 30 min – Assessment center in Drammen – Select BI school code (0529) upon completion of the test 4.Improve your score if you want – GMAT score of 650 strongly recommended – Test taken within the last 3 years are accepted by QTEM – You can take the GMAT once every 31 calendar days and no more than five times in a 12-month period  Plan and prepare your GMAT!! 19
