Industrial Controls Engineering Department Why a survey about PXI ? 2  Since 01/2009 EN-ICE is in charge of CERN wide support for industrial control systems, including National Instruments products (legacy from IT/CO & AB/CO-IS)  During last 2 years, PXI systems have been heavily spread :  In all CERN domains : DAQ, RF Analysis, Motion Control, Feedback Stabilization Measurement, Kicker magnet control, …  For Accelerator & Experiments : PS, SPS, LHC, TOTEM, UA9, CRISTAL, CAST, NA58, ALPHA, …

Industrial Controls Engineering Department Why a survey about PXI ? 3  Today EN-ICE aims to improve the support for the PXI systems  A global view of the used equipment is necessary to be able to propose dedicated services  So a survey was needed to get an overview of PXI @ CERN  It has been done in 2 steps:  Looking for the PXI Users  Asking them for information about their systems
