8.EE.7a-Give examples of linear equations in one variable with one solution, infinitely many solutions, or no solutions. Show which of these possibilities is the case by successively transforming the given equation into simpler forms, until an equivalent equation of the form x = a, a = a, or a = b results (where a and b are different numbers). 8.EE.7b-Solve linear equations with rational number coefficients, including equations whose solutions require expanding expressions using the distributive property and collecting like terms. IMPACT SAMR Cover Sheet Task OverviewLearning Objective(s)Suggested Technology Students will use the laptops to create their own real world problems. The student will create their own situation iPADS / LAPTOPS Students will research and determine the best cost for purchasing t-shirts. The student will write equations and solve. iPADs Students will use Kahoot to solve problems. The student will review multi-step equations. Create a new Kahoot Students will use the online resources from the Mathematics series to solve problems. The student will be able to solve equations and relate them to real world situations. Laptops Glencoe Online Textbook Resources Louisiana Math Standard (include description): Teacher: Karen Parker MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with no real change. transformation enhancement

1.Log in to Glencoe. www.connectedmcgraw-hill.com click on Chapter 2, Lesson 5. Click on the tab that says watch.www.connectedmcgraw-hill.com 2.Solve the real world assignment. Click on the step – by –step button for immediate feedback. This task uses: iPAD / LAPTOP Learning Objective(s): The student will be able to solve equations and relate them to real world situations. S SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Equations Related to the Real World. The students will be able to solve equations and relate them to the real world situations.

Kahoot The student will review solving multi-step equations. 1.Log on to Kahoot.com to enter the game pin 43184 and provide a nick name. 1.1 st Game – Click on the link below. https://play.kahoot.it/#/question?quizId=8f636805-6878-4465-9604- 2a634e5267echttps://play.kahoot.it/#/question?quizId=8f636805-6878-4465-9604- 2a634e5267ec 2.2 nd Game – Click on the link below and use 826422 as the game pin and provide a nick name. https://play.kahoot.it/#/question?quizId=f4bee851-e3b8-4d35-a071- c82553da7a36 This task uses: Kahoot Learning Objective(s): The student will write equations and solve. A AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement.

Real World Equations The student will write equations and solve. 1.Students will complete a real world purchase order project. You will use an ipad to search the web for the most reasonable price on team uniform shirts, you will look up their sales data an additional cost to put names on the shirt. You will use data of real sales from the company of your choice and write equations and expressions. As the coach you will review additional cost of putting names on shirts and write equations to help make decisions. This task uses: ipad Learning Objective(s): The student will write equations and solve. M MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable

Expressions Students will create their own situation. Create your own real world situation. Include enough information to write and solve expressions and equations. When completed, you will post to blackboard on the discussion board. The teacher will divide students into groups and show the situations for them to collaborate. This task uses: LAPTOPS / iPADS Learning Objective(s): Students will create their own real world problems. R REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable
