Liferay Portal was created in 2000 by chief software architect Brian Chan to provide an enterprise portal solution for non-profit organizations.
Liferay is a professional open-source company that provides free documentation and paid professional service to users of its software.

One of the core features built into Liferay Portal is the Content Management System (CMS).

Oromiya portal's core is a portlets container, and the container's job is to aggregate the set of portlets that are to appear on any particular page and display them properly to the user.
