Co-Financed by European Regional Development Fund and made possible by the INTERREG IVC first Surveys Establish baselines of the BAIPs –Gain information on the socio-economic context, formation background Survey the managers of the 17 BAIPs –Their roles, activities, USPs of their parks Survey the businesses on the BAIPs –Over 500 firms surveyed in seven countries –Size of premises, employees, sectors, skills, key issues

Over ⅓ are still in first phase of development Diversity of size: 1.5 to 185 hectare Many have been set up to regenerate ‘old industrial areas’ - move from mass manufacture Still a substantial manufacturing activity Some concentrating on high technology activity
