2  To raise awareness of and interest in technology integration in the learning environment  Technology integration helps students apply computer and technology skills  Helps students learn to apply both computer and technology skills Why are we here

3  Learning is not the same for every student. Many students need computers, smart boards and IPads  All people learn differently (never assume). There are kinesthetic, auditory and visual learners.  There are different networks for learning:  Recognition- helps learners recognize what they see (visual images)  Strategic- - provides learners with a plan of action  Affective- makes learning more engaged Universal Design to Learning Audience

5  Computer and Smart Board  Students with Disabilities  Such as executive functioning  The UDL framework typically involves efforts to expand executive capacity in two ways: 1) by scaffolding lower level skills so that they require less executive processing; and 2) by scaffolding higher level executive skills and strategies so that they are more effective and developed. (Hiramoto 2015)  8 key executive functions (Understood.org) UDL “Demonstration”

6 Promotes a culture of high expectations for all students is a fundamental goal of the Common Core State Standards  Physical Disabilities-Hearing Impaired Students Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (section 504)  ELL Students(English Language Learners)- are students who are unable to communicate fluently or learn effectively in English  (KEEP IN MIND) Multiple means of action and expression UDL “Differentiation”
