2 UDL Universal Design For Learning

3 Defining UDL What is UDL? It is a philosophy of design that seeks to create environments and products that can be used by diverse populations without the need for assistive technology (Edyburn,2013)”

4 UDL UDL is also used at the Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST). Principle components of UDL: 1. Multiple Means of Representation 2. Multiple Means of Expression 3. Multiple Means of Engagement

5 Demonstration of UDL A way to demonstrate multiple means of representation in the classroom for UDL is through the use of Youtube videos, or listening to a podcast.

11 Technology and 21 st Century Skills Technology and Engineering Design Students should develop critical thinking, information and media technology, and social and cross cultural skills,

12 ICT Skills ICT allows for: Use of technology to research organize, evaluate, and communicate information Apply an understanding of ethical and legal issues

13 New Technology New Technology allows for more access to the means of learning material. Students have the ability to learn more on their own and have a since of more responsibility towards their education.
