Hydrophone connection developments. Antonio Orzelli on behalf of V. Kulikovskiy, P.Musico, F.Amelli, G.Riccobene, S.Biagi.

Hydrophones at the lab. We decided to connect a digital one first. Parameter / ModelAnalog Output (10m long cable) Analog Differential Power Supply 5-16 V DC 16 mA Parameter / ModelDigital Output (10m long cable)Digital Power Supply 5-18 V DC 12 V / 65 mA

AES3 hardware connection (Unbalanced – RCA) Commercial connector (FMC LOW for 4 audio) costs 390 euro. Make it by ourselves (P. Musico)

Where to connect? Some fast temporary solution – XADC Header. 4 single-ended pins (General Purpose I/O). KC705MMP

Acoustic Readout. Design. aes_rx FIFO top_rx 5 channel1 23..0 channel2 23..0 framenumber 7..0 aes_rx – a VHDL module, provided by Xilinx din UART Wr_enable

AES3 Test Digital Input Signal 6 FPGA Mirror Output UARTPC Decode signal AES3 Module: Data Valid -> OK AES3 Module: Check Decoded Data -> Testing… din CHECKED with Oscilloscope Audio Word 55..0

Next Step Connect the Analog hydrophone to the FPGA using XADC or external ADC Comparison between analog and digital hydrophone
