TECHNOLOGY AND LEARNING By: Ebony Aught EDU 620 Meeting Individual Student Needs With Technology Dr. Deborah Moerland June 13, 2016

UDL: AUDIENCE & INFORMATION To get the audience attention, I will have poster boards, flyers, and a digital screen. They will all display information on UDL. The information will be a brief description of what UDL mean. “Universal Design for Learning (UDL) provides the opportunity for all students to access, participate in, and progress in the general-education curriculum by reducing barriers to instruction”(Ralabate, 2011).

UDL: DEMONSTRATE On the digital screen, I will provide a video of universal design for learning. The video is title UDL at a glance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD vKnY0g6e4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD vKnY0g6e4

UDL: DIFFERENTIATION UDL is design to give all the students an equal opportunity to learn. UDL is design to help all students from prek to 12 th grade. UDL can also be helpful when teaching an adult class because everyone learns different so the UDL approach will reach all students.

UDL: INTERACTION Showing the attendees a lesson plan using the UDL approach and asking them if the can create a lesson plan that will have an effect on the whole class without singling out one child. Another example would be to provide the attendees with a problem and ask them to come up with a solution where the disable child will not feel left out.

TECHNOLOGY AND UDL FOR ALL LEARNERS: MISSION, BELIEF, AND GOALS Mission and Belief StatementGoals We are committed to a partnership with the students, staff, and community. Within the partnership, we will provide the knowledge, skills, and real-world experiences to become a productive citizen in this challenging, technology, diverse world.  Enhance 21 st century skills  Give students real-world experiences  Increase technology skills

TECHNOLOGY AND UDL FOR ALL LEARNERS: COURSE AND/OR PROGRAM OFFERINGS  Automobile Service  Certified Nursing Assistant  Electrician  Dental  Welder  Web Design Professional  Pipefitter  Cyber Engineering(www.louisianabelieves. com)

21ST-CENTURY SKILLS ACQUISITION AND EMPLOYABILITY: TECHNOLOGY AND 21ST-CENTURY SKILLS Web Design Professional ~ In the web design professional course the students will develop the creativity and innovation skill. The students are asked to be creative and to use their critical thinking skills to create a design. With this course being a computer course, it addresses all the ITC Literacy outcomes. The course can help students land future jobs for developing websites for important businesses and personnel.

21ST-CENTURY SKILLS ACQUISITION AND EMPLOYABILITY: TOOLS & INTERACTION Computers and interactive white boards will be used in most of the courses. The attendees will have the opportunity to sit at the computer and work on a web design and others can use the interactive whiteboard once they finish to display their web design they created on the computer.

21ST-CENTURY SKILLS ACQUISITION AND EMPLOYABILITY: NEW TECHNOLOGY Schools will benefit from new technology by having technology for all the students to use at the same time instead of the students waiting for another student to finish. Another benefit of new technology is the teachers will have another method to get the lesson across to students. Technology will enhance the students critical thinking skills and developing skills.
