The Benefits A positive impact on: improved health and mobility; reducing admissions to hospital; reducing length of stay and delayed discharge from hospital; reducing visits to A&E; improving access to primary care services for vulnerable people; increasing use of treatment services (for example, drug treatment services); promoting stability in lives which gives the chance to plan ahead, which can reduce psychological distress; and freeing up of capacity to treat other groups and meet other health targets.
