Formaldehyde, a poisonous liquid used to preserve dead bodies. Ammonia, a chemical used for cleaning. Cadmium, a poisonous and radioactive metal found in batteries Acetone, a corrosive liquid used in nail polish remover. Arsenic, an ingredient used in rat poison. There are over 4,000 chemicals used in cigarettes.

Up to 3,000 nonsmoking Americans exposed to tobacco smoke can die of lung cancer. One cigarette contains about 10 mg of nicotine.
