2 Writing the equation of a line in slope – intercept form This assignment needs to be done on a clean sheet of paper and will be turned in once completed 1.Using the scientific calculator find the slope of (2,-1) and (8,-3) using the slope formula. 2.After you find the slope, you will write the equation of the line in slope intercept form. 3.After writing the equation of the line in slope intercept form, you will need to define the slope (m) and y-intercept (b). 4.After determining the slope (m) and y-intercept (b), you will need to determine if the slope (m) is positive or negative. This Assignment needs to be done on a single sheet of paper and will be turned in for a grade on correctness. 4 Are my classmates doing it right? Students will make a blog with the problem and the equation written in slope intercept form. They students will also blog on 2 other students answers. 1.Students will work the problem that has been assigned to them from the worksheet that is given in class (handout 1). 2.Students find the slope of the line and after finding the slope will write the line in slope intercept form 3.After the students write in slope intercept form they will identify slope (m) and y intercept (b) 4.After each student has finished with their own individual problem, they will get an ipad, open up safari, go to cpsb.org and log into blackboard. 5.They will select Coach LeBlanc’s Algebra 2 and the hour they are in 6.They will open activity 1 7.After they are in activity 1, they will click the + to add a new entry. Type “your name in subject entry. Type your problem (the 2 ordered pairs) and then your answer (the equation of the line in slope intercept form) 8.After the blog is entered, click on 2 other peoples blog and reply on if you agree on answer and if there is any mistakes, correct them. 5 Saying it All 1.You will use an app called tellagami to create an animation which explains how to write an equation in slope intercept form given (-3,9) and (0,3). 2.It is important that you work the problem first since it is only a 30 second video. You will need to include all the information that is needed so a person who does not know how to work a problem like this will be able to after listening to your video. 3.When you have completed step 2, open the tellagami app and read the “how to.” choose a character, an emotion, and a background. 4.Click on the back arrow to get to your screen to record. Use the record feature and click on the record button when you are ready to begin. Click on the preview button to see what your gami will look and sound like. When you are satisfied, click to share. Make sure you click the save option so that your video will be saved onto the camera roll. 5.Open the safari app on the ipad and go to cpsb.org. Log into blackboard and find coach leblanc algebra 2 and the hour you are in. Click on create blog entry to add a new entry and in the title line type in your name. Click on attachment icon on top of the page and then on browse my computer at bottom of page. Find your video on camera roll and click use. Once all gami videos are posted, provide a comment on each of the vidoes with a review of how you think they did. To view all the blog posts, click on all class members.
