Regret © 2015 albert-learning.com What is Regret ?  When you feel a sense of sadness or unhappiness for doing something or for not doing something, is termed as regret.  It is a feeling a of disappointment or repentance over a situation that has already happened or you wish would have happened.  Regret = A mistake

The next day when the time came to write my test, I didn’t know the answers. I didn’t do my test well.” So, John said “ I regret it now”  Lucy : “ She cried because of how I spoke to her.’’ So, Lucy said “ I regret the whole conversation now because I hurt her.”

Regret © 2015 albert-learning.com Expressing Regret :  To express regret using sentences, we use the following: Should have Shouldn’t have ( Shouldn’t = Should + Not, It’s a contraction) Examples : 1)I should have studied when I had the time. 2) I shouldn’t have gone out and wasted my time. (Negative)

John said, “ I failed the test, I should have studied.” “I shouldn’t have gone to the pub.” Lucy said, “ I should have been nicer to Mary.” “ I shouldn’t have been so rude with Mary.”
