4 Hunters – Early man who developed tools to hunt animals for food. What do you think the most important thing was for early man to do…?????

7 What types of things did the animals they hunt provided for them? and hides for clothing and shelter bones for tools meat for food,

8 After Kug’s brave fight with the mammoth that provided for his people for some time what do you think they may have done to remember his brave deed. Cave Art - are paintings found on cave walls and ceilings, and especially refer to those of prehistoric origin.

9 Bands were groups of related families united in usually no more than 30. Gatherers – Early men, women, and children who would collect roots, plants, nuts, fruits and seeds. By co-operating together they met their basic needs for food, clothing and shelter.

10 These bands would make camps in caves or rock shelters wherever the animals were plentiful. Nomads a member of a people or tribe that has no permanent home, but moves about from place to place. They would follow the animals they hunted.

11 It is believed that The earliest humans probably lived in Africa. Humanity then spread to the rest of the world over the next tens of thousands of years as they hunted and gathered food to survive.

12 When food (plants or animals) became scarce in one location early man in bands would move to follow or find food. Migration is to move from one place to another.. We’re outta here! Yaba-daba-doo!

15 Time Terminology Paleolithic Comes from the word "Old Stone" in Greek. It refers to the period 2.6 million years ago, to 10,000 B.C.E. Neolithic From the word "New Stone" in Greek. this term refers to the period 10,000 B.C.E. to 1 C.E. B.C.E Period of time in history that means Before Common Era, and is also known as B.C. C.E. Period of time in history that means Common Era, and is also known as A.D. Ice Age A period of time that extreme glacier ice builds up. The greatest ever occurring around 650,000 years ago
