1 A Complete Guide to Registering for an ICN Course

2 STEP 1 – Go to the ICN website at http://www.icn.org (it is viewed best using Firefox as your Internet browser). Select ‘Courses & Programs’ under the Current Student box.http://www.icn.orgFirefox

3 STEP 2 – Select Search the ICN Course Catalog.

4 STEP 3 – Choose a Subject Area, Course Level, Internet as the Delivery Method, and the desired Semester. Use the light gray slide bar to move to the bottom of the page.

5 STEP 4 – Type any key words for course titles (not required) and then select the Search button.

6 STEP 5 – The course title and originating institution are displayed to the left of the screen. The semester appears on the right-hand side under Terms. Click on the course title for more information about the course and pre-registration page. Be sure to check for more course listings (arrows near the page number at the bottom of the page.

7 STEP 6 – This is the description of the course from the previous page. Scroll down to see more options (continued)… Scroll bar

8 STEP 7 – To pre-register for this course, the Login to Register link will appear if not logged in (proceed to step 8). When logged in, the ‘Preregister’ button will appear (proceed to step 11).

9 STEP 8 – After selecting Log in to Register, either log in or Create New Account.

10 STEP 9 – Fill in all required fields to create an account.

11 STEP 10 – Complete information including your name, date of birth, and academic history, which will be used to register you in courses.

12 STEP 11 – Go back to the original description of the class. After selecting Preregister, you can review courses pending preregistration. Select Complete Preregistration to begin the process of preregistering.

13 STEP 12 – Enter your Student ID number (begins with 900) and Academic Advisor information (continued)…

14 STEP 13 – Scroll down and fill in any remaining information, accept the drop terms, and sign the electronic signature and date of preregistration.

15 What happens after you Register: The Indiana College Network (ICN) will reply to your email on file indicating your preregistration form has been received. Both the Home Institution (IPFW) and Originating Institution (university offering the course) receive notification of your preregistration. After your course has been approved by your Home Institution and space is available and confirmed by the Originating Institution, you will be enrolled in the equivalent ‘P’(partnership) section at IPFW. An email will be sent to you to confirm the status of your registration. Your tuition fees and Financial Aid, if applicable, along with credits earned, will be recorded on your transcript. **Be aware that if a course has includED books (electronic textbooks), you may be billed separately from the Originating Institution. NOTE: You are NOT registered in the class until you are notified by your Home Institution (IPFW).
