2. Health Behavior Survey of Latvian Adult Population In the framework of FINBALT Health Monitoring - a collaborative system for monitoring health behavior in Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania. Used also for WHO CINDI program. The research purpose is to collect information about individuals’ health behavior, evaluate actual and potential public health problems associated with health behavior and gain accurate information on which to base future health promotion and health education programs.

Methods The survey uses a mailed questionnaire to a randomly selected, representative sample (n= 3000) of adults aged 15-64 years The survey instrument contained ~ 100 questions Questions deal with socio-demographic background, health, smoking, alcohol consumption, food habits, height, weight, physical activity, use of seat belts and reflectors
