3  If you don't have internet access at home, the Library has 45 public computers that are free to use with a valid Desoto library card. If you don't have a card we offer internet passes for $1 an hour. If you have a laptop or other mobile device you can also take advantage of the free wireless internet that we and many other public places provide. Previous PageNext Page

4  With much of the job search being conducted online nowadays, your correspondence with potential employers is largely conducted by email. A professional email address is the first step towards making a good first impression. 7  Many interviewees skip this small but important detail after an interview that sometimes makes the difference between getting the job or getting passed over. Whenever you finish an interview, send a follow up email no more than 3 days later to refresh the employer on who you are, what you hope to bring to the company, and any details you might have forgotten during the interview that showcase why you're the best person for the job. 8  Some people are lucky and get a call back in a matter of days, but for many more people it can take weeks or even months to get an interview. Be patient and don't get discouraged if it's taking awhile.
