2 2 Commissioned ABA Publishing commissioned industry research firm, Readex Research of Stillwater, MN Four-page questionnaire mailed April 2009 to 500 randomly selected members of the ABA Section of Real Property, Trust & Estate Law. A follow-up mailing to non- respondents conducted in mid-May to increase response levels. 28% response rate Goals To demonstrate the reading relationship and relevance of the issues of Probate & Property to section members and stakeholders. To document for advertisers that Probate & Property: represents a viable advertising medium directly connects to a legal audience of real property, trust & estate attorneys.

Of the 11 topics listed, the most desirable for future issues are estate / trust planning and estate / gift tax. And, there could potentially be more / better coverage of business planning in future issues. It is of interest to a fair number (46%), but far fewer (25%) are satisfied with the current coverage. Topic Interest is quite varied with no more than 59% indicating interest in any single topic.

Reader Comments: Individual opinion written in response to question #9 Digital: as visually readable on-screen as in hard copy digital version/access email alert for the various articles make past articles searchable online  online Separate Magazines: don’t need the real property element… separate the real property from the estate/tax areas if all the elder law information and estate planning information was removed…also, because it is a national publication, information is often irrelevant less probate, more property (3 times) less real estate topics…I am a trust and estates lawyer (2 x) make 1 probate journal and 1 property journal split it up into one real estate edition then the following publication do a probate edition More of: more basics, more elder law, more non-tax driven. estate planning, medicaid planning more case law updates more commercial real estate information and articles that deal with current developments more detail that would be of use to skilled practitioners Question # 9 More of More: more practice pointers with links to example documents and/or further reading more short articles on key law changes more practical articles on commercial lease issues more reviews of relevant software
