2 Clicking on this link allows you to view all the evaluations for a paper You can browse evaluations grouped by Faculty and by Sections within those faculties. Clicking on each Faculty will reveal its list of Sections and enable you to narrow your browse to a specified subject area. Advanced search allows you to narrow your search using many different criteria. Simply enter your search request, select the subject categories you want to search and include a date range. You can also search by journal, author, Faculty Member and, importantly, limit your search by rating or by the F1000 classification. Faculty Members also classify papers according to the type of scientific advance: Browse My F1000 Browse the Faculties Top 10s Advanced Search My Details About F1000 Faculty Member List One of three ratings is assigned to each paper. These are used to calculate the F1000 factor and consensus rating. 3 My F1000 Browse the Faculties Top 10s Advanced Search My Details About F1000 Faculty Member List My F1000 Use My F1000 to customise the F1000 site to better suit your interests You can customize your My F1000 page by specifying your favourite subject areas (Sections), Faculty Members, and stored searches. Stored Searches Setting up My F1000 email alerts 3 You can receive regular email updates on the most recent and important papers that appear in your My F1000 Sections. To set these up go to My details (on the F1000 toolbar) and select email preferences. You can select the frequency at which you would like to receive the email alerts and also the number of papers you would like to see in each. You can also specify whether you would like to receive your email alerts in plain text or HTML format. Don’t forget to click on submit Editing My F1000 You can store any search results from an Advanced Search or from a Simple search (within Browse) as a STORED SEARCH. Setting up a stored search On the results page select store this search. You can then name your search and select your email preferences for this. Accessing and editing your stored searches Stored searches can be accessed through Advanced search or through My F1000. From here you can run, refine, change settings or delete a stored search. You can select your favourite Sections by selecting edit. Then highlight your chosen sections in the left hand column and move them to the right hand column using the arrows.

4 My F1000 Browse the Faculties Top 10s Advanced Search My Details About F1000 Faculty Member List Top 10s Faculty of 1000 continuously lists the TOP 10 most highly rated papers in All of Biology as well as within each Faculty. There are four types of Top 10 lists: All time Top 10 All time Top 10s of the papers that have received the highest ratings in All Biology and by Faculty. Current Top 10 Current Top 10s are generated every day using only papers which have been most evaluated over the preceding month. Papers are ranked according to their F1000 Factor, which incorporates both the number of times a paper has been evaluated and the rating it received. Most Viewed Most Viewed Top 10s are generated every day and reflect the number of times an evaluation has been viewed over the preceding 14 day period. Hidden Jewels Hidden Jewels Top 10s are generated every day using only papers that have been picked from less widely read journals.
