3 SCSP programme 15/16 – original Project 1: Travel behaviour change with workplaces linked to WLC investment in bus and path infrastructure to serve employment area in Livingston Project 2: Joining up Livingston North, focusing on Abellio Scotrail investment in rail station cycle infrastructure Project 3: All Ability Cycling and Bike Lending Libraries, building on pilots / existing scheme and matched by Health Improvement Team (time and investment)

4 SCSP programme 15/16 – revised Merged Project 1 and 2: –Workplace engagement across Livingston and elsewhere myPTP, Dr Bike, travel clinics, Step Count Challenge West Lothian College, St John’s Hospital, WLC, various through Step Count Challenge –Signage and mapping across West Lothian Livingston off-road signage review Walking route planner for all West Lothian towns Active travel mapping project across West Lothian –Rail station user OD data for 4 x West Lothian stations (following Abellio Scotrail shift in investment) –Walk once a Week for primary schools across West Lothian –Public transport real time information Project 3 as planned

7 Step Count Challenge Focus on active journeys Gore (Kirkton) came top in November national SCC Bespoke West Lothian SCC right now for 4 weeks – nearly 400 people

8 Establishing a relationship with West Lothian College Travel advice stall at Freshers Fair & Dr Bike Action plan developed and contact with Cycling Scotland Step Count Challenge teams 16/17 – hoping to build and continue….

12 Working with external partners Opportunity: –SCSP provided a mechanism to ‘push’ for investment in West Lothian by Abellio Scotrail –Has led to other joint working projects and helped lever SEStran and Community Links funding Challenge: –Keeping track of external investment, uncertainty and revising programme to following the investment

14 Learning outcomes? Depending on external partners for ‘match’ can be a risk, but also an opportunity and levers ‘commitment’ Partnerships and relationships, no matter how small = seeds of success Risk assessment and contingency planning – crucial from the start and throughout
