How is a food web different from a food chain? A food web is bigger than a food chain; there are many food chains in one food web -Circle the food web and a food chain in the picture

15 A carnivore that preys on secondary consumers is called a tertiary consumer. A fox feeding on a snake is a tertiary consumer. Carnivores occupy the third and fourth trophic levels. A carnivore that preys on primary consumers is called a secondary consumer. A snake that eats a mouse is a secondary consumer. Herbivores occupy the second trophic level. These plant-eating consumers, such as mice that eat seeds, are known as primary consumers. Producers, such as grass or algae, occupy the first trophic level.
