Where you can find them
When the MB is replaced, Serial Number (SN), UUID and Product Name(PN) in BIOS is also changed and Windows 7 OS appears to be not activated. The customers may feel uncomfortable with this change, so we provide new updating tools for this situation.
Attention: SLP tools are only used for Lenovo Notebooks preloaded with Win7. Any illegal use or distribution is prohibited.
Microsoft develops System-Locked Pre-installation (SLP) technique to assist validating OEM products. It writes typical OS Marker file into BIOS. If the Marker file is detected, OS of the notebook is identified as genuine. When MB is replaced for reparation, OS appears to be inactive. Then we can write Win7 Marker file into BIOS to validate OS for Lenovo OEM products. Below are steps:

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Server is convenient tool for uploading or downloading all kinds of files. We can use it to transfer or backup local and remote files easily. Level 2 maintain this server and region level 1.5 and Lenovo AWSP download files from the server.

Universally unique identifier
(1) Look up Model List to find the right directory and pick up right tools required.
(2) Boot the computer from USB into DOS.
(3) Execute commands to update SN&UUID&PN guided by Demo in each Excel file.
(4) Check SN, UUID and PN in BIOS.

Take Ideapad Y550 as example:
“Y550” appears in Compal column in Model List, so go into Compal folds and look up Compal Machines for the right tool. We get command line: “EEPROM w A0 A9 [CB ]”. Then boot the notebook with USB into DOS, execute the command above as showed in the follow picture. More details and instruction could be found in each Excel file. At last, check the SN modification.

Update SN, MTM and UUID
For old models: A300, A305, A600, B500, B505, K200, K210, K220, K300, Q200.Lenovo 3000 C100, C200,C300,C305,H100,H200,H210, K100, Q100, Q150, H210, H220, K100, K200, K210, C300, C305 and etc, Use SMBCFG. EXE to update SN, MTM&UUID
First boot machine to DOS, then execute command lines as below.（After “--” are comments on the command function. No need to input “--” and after it）
SMBCFG /type xxxxxxxxxx --for Machine Type/Model update
SMBCFG /type xxxxxxxxxx --for system serial number update
SMBCFG /UUID for generating UUID

13. Desktop SN, MTM, UUID & Mark file updating tools
For new models: H215, H310, H320, B510, A700
SN, MTM and UUID update tool should be BIOS Flash tool in the Server
Modify MTM or SN information in the "default.ini" as required.
Explanation of "default.ini":
[BIOS Information] File title, don't change.
Machine Type= Machine Type and Model, the max length is 20 bytes.
System Serial Number= System Serial Number, the max length is 20 bytes.
Chassis Serial Number= Chassis Serial Number, the max length is 20 bytes.
Brand ID= System Brand ID, default is "Lenovo Product".
Asset Tag= Asset Tag, the max length is 25 bytes.
Logo= = ThinkCentre = Lenovo
Boot to DOS
Run command "lb.bat default.ini" to flash BIOS.
Run “AMIDEDOS /su auto” under DOS to update UUID. Otherwise, run uuid.exe if amidedos.exe not exist.

Update MARKFILE
Attention: Markfile tools are only used for Lenovo Desktops preloaded with Win7. Any illegal use or distribution is prohibited.
For old models: A300, A305, A600, B500, B505, K200, K210, K220, K300, Q200.Lenovo 3000 C100, C200,C300,C305,H100,H200,H210, K100, Q100, H210, H220, K100, K200, K210, C300, C305 and etc, MarkFile update should follow steps below:
Boot to DOS
Flash BIOS, SN, MTM,UUID as guided above, then reset
Run Reset.bat, then reset
Run Markfile.bat, then reset
Run MFGdone.bat, then reset.

Markfile update for system activation should be guided as readme.txt file.
Boot to DOS
Run "oax.bat -win"
Run "mfgx.bat -set" to flash marker file
