UNDERSTAND Although no one person carries the entire blame for the tragedy that occurred in The Crucible, it is safe to say that several characters contribute to the madness. Of the many characters that we could hold responsible for these events, which character do you find most at fault? In your essay, choose one character who holds the most responsibility for the tragedy that occurred in Salem, and use three examples to prove your point. Support your opinion with evidence from the text. DO Look at your character blame sheet and choose the best ONE character and ONE quote to support it.
