4 What is an Employee Assistance Program? At some time in our lives, we all experience issues that we cannot solve on our own. If these issues are not addressed, they could adversely impact our job performance. This is where EAP comes in. EAP provides confidential, professional counseling services to assist with the many stressors you face everyday. EAP is a benefit pre-paid entirely by your employer for you and your household members (which can include your spouse, significant other, children, parents, or anyone living in your home). 6  Face-to-Face Counseling: Individual, Couples, and Families All employee households are eligible for a certain number of sessions with a professional, Master’s level counselor. Check with your HR department or call our main EAP office (215.257.6556) to find out how many sessions are available to you and your household members. Regardless of where you live or work, we will provide you and your household members with convenient access to a professional counselor. Should you or someone using your EAP benefit have issues requiring more sessions than provided by the contract, we will provide an appropriate referral for longer-term services. Your counselor may NOT tell anyone what you talk about unless you give written permission. We do not share any personal information with your employer nor do we share who has used the benefit.  Free Benefit This benefit is entirely free to you and members of your household. Our office hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 8:00 am–9:00 pm; Wednesday and Friday: 8:00 am–5:00 pm. A 24/7 telephone service is available for immediate support. 12 Drug, Alcohol, and Addiction - Related If you or a household member suffers from an addiction – drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc. – or if you tested positive during a company drug test, we have counselors available to help assess your situation and make appropriate referrals. If you work under the auspices of DOT and have tested positive on a drug test, a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is available to provide you with an evaluation.
