10 Tech Tools White Boards Skype for Education Skype can be used in the classroom and in the community for many purposes. It brings students and parents as well as community members up close and personal with people they might never have access to. Plus, many authors now do presentations via Skype. Classrooms also can make connections with scientists, mathematicians, community leaders and kids their own age from different communities or even countries. This enhances language and communication skills for everyone and brings our world closer. (Information Week, 2015)

11 Why Technology? A final thought on Education in the Classroom… As we prepare for an ever changing world and diversity is at its highest we must consider the implications of technology in our classrooms and communities and what this means for our children and our aging adult generation. Technology will determine whether we can compete on the world stage. We must vote to preserve education and propel our students and families forward and into the future. Congress has recognized the potential of technology to enable individuals with disabilities to live, learn, and work more independently as a result of technology. This is increasingly important in our classrooms as the needs of diverse learners increases and technology rises to accommodate. For people without disabilities, technology makes things easier. For people with disabilities technology makes things possible. (IBM Training Manual, 1991)
