In the first three units, you had a chance to explore your chosen profession and learn about the academic and professional requirements. In this unit, you will use the information to begin setting your career goals. You will also attend a Seminar where you will discuss hot topics in healthcare and how they are relevant to your career.

The APA formatting website will help you format your paper. The other web resources will help you in your Discussion and Seminar activities. ICD-10 (International Classification of Disease, -1oth Revision), is expected to be implemented in the U.S. on October 1, 2013, and all users must be in compliance at this time.

19. Unit 4 Assignment For this unit, you will write a 3-5 page paper summarizing what you have learned about your chosen profession so far. It should be double- spaced, 12-point font, and use proper APA citations. Be sure you use the Writing Center and ask your instructor any questions before the assignment is due. See below for details.  Incorporating your reading and research thus far in the course, write a 3-5 page paper (APA style), including title and reference pages, regarding your chosen profession. Your paper should include the following sections: 1. overview of the profession 2. educational requirements including any relevant certifications or credentials 3. current issues relevant to your profession, 4. summary of your career goals, and 5. where you see yourself in 5 years.

You will be graded not only on the content but your writing and format. Please see the project rubric located in the course syllabus. Upload the completed paper to the Unit 4 Assignment Dropbox. Save it in a location and with the proper naming convention: username-HS100-section-unit4 Project/Assignment.doc (username is your Kaplan username, section is your course section). When you are ready to submit it, go to the Dropbox and complete the steps below: Directions for Submitting Your Project/Assignment  Go to the Dropbox.  Click the link that says “Submit Project/Assignment.”  In the “Submit to Basket” menu, select Unit 4: Assignment.  In the optional “Comments” field, type any additional information you would like your instructor to see.  Click the button that says “Add Attachments.”  Follow the steps listed to complete attaching your file.  Click OK and Click Submit You should revisit the Dropbox to view any helpful feedback your instructor has left for you.
