3  Check your student dashboard daily  Check messages  Check the Announcements and news forums in course

4  January 21 st !!!  Is there a specific time you log in?  NO! Just log in sometime that day and get started.  Course is available 24/7.  How do you get started?

5  1. Log into virtualsc.org and update your student profile. Check your messages and read my welcome letter with instructions similar to what is on this presentation.  2. View my personal website to see syllabus, pacing guide, my contact information, welcome letter.  3. Answer the google survey with a parent– makes sure that you have set up your computer, updated your contact information, and understand what is expected of you in the course.

6 Confirm for accuracy: SUNS ID Name Birthday Email address(es) Phone Number(s) Mailing Address Save any changes.

8  Welcome Survey…. With a parent!  In that welcome message I sent….“Welcome SURVEY/Google Form”  Click on the link in that message and complete the survey.  At the end of the survey, you will be sent an email to your personal email account (that you verified in the survey) with the answer to the Welcome Poll Quiz– WRITE IT DOWN. This will be your first quiz grade.  On the first day of class, you’ll be asked to submit those answers for a GRADE.  Easy grades of 100 to start the class! Yay you!

9  Create a Guardian/Parent account  To have access to grades and progress reports  To receive/send messages to me through your parent dashboard  Directions for creating a guardian/parent account can be found at the parents tab on at https://virtualsc.org/

10  Student checklist at the VirtualSC website and review those suggested activities!  The student checklist is linked here: https://virtualsc.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Fall-2014-Student-Checklist.pdf

11  Complete Student Orientation Course  This is a great resource!  You have access to this in your student dashboard.  Please be sure to complete this new orientation even if you are an experienced VirtualSC student. There have been several updates.

12  Login to your student dashboard at virtualsc.org  Check your messages – DAILY!  Click on moodle – enter our course. Get started! Go in order!  Follow pacing guide for due dates! Where is your pacing guide? Remember my website you saw earlier? Its there! Its also at the top of the moodle course!

13 REMEMBER: You can complete the orientation now. It contains a great deal of helpful videos and exercises. You can find the assignments under the “topics” or sometimes in the Course Menu. Be sure to watch the videos in the Student Orientation or the ones you can see from Student Services. ALWAYS GO IN ORDER!!! Topic Assignment Instructions

14  Communicate with me!  Read Everything and Read Carefully!  Meet all due dates…  20-day drop: If you decided you do not want to take this course anymore, send me a message in your dashboard. If you drop before the 20 day period is over, there is no grade penalty. If you drop or if you are administratively withdrawn for lack of work after the 20 day grace, you will receive a WF on transcript.

15  Watch this video  Guardian—create guardian account  Student and Guardian– Verify information in Student Profile for accuracy  Student and parent – visit my website for syllabus, pacing guide, contact me info – PRINT IT !  Student-- Complete the Student Orientation Course  Student– Complete the Welcome/Welcome Poll Survey (Google Form) through link in your dashboard and get your first quiz password.
