2. Leonardo’s Life He was born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy. He died on May 2,1519 in Amboise, France. His parents are Caterina and Piero Fruosino Di Antonio Da Vinci. When Leonardo was little, a feather flew off a kite and into his mouth, this is what got him interested in flight. He taught himself Latin, physics, and human anatomy.

3. Science & Math? Leonardo was the first person to blend science and math. No other mathematician thought you could. Da Vinci's work in the 1500's corresponds to our 21st Century Performance Standards and NCTM standards. Da Vinci worked with 2D and 3D figures and their properties. He would sketch drawings for helicopters, gliders with flapping wings, and parachutes.( They never could really use them) Lastly, Leonardo may not have invented something big, but he did do things that was later know to be the “seeds” of other inventions.
