IMPACT SAMR Cover Sheet Task OverviewLearning Objective(s)Suggested Technology Create a blog with a video that represents a real-life situation and solve the situation using graphing. Include all graphics in blog. Demonstrate real-life situations that can be solved by graphing a system of linear equations Graph systems of equations using Mathway, an online graphing calculator, and explain the solutions of the graphs in a Blackboard discussion forum.  Graph systems of linear equations using an online graphing calculator  Explain the types of solutions using the graph of systems of equations Post questions from the previous nights homework and discuss answers through a Blackboard discussion.  Explain how to write a system of equations from a word problem  Solve word problems by graphing systems of linear equations Define the section vocabulary or concept and provides examples of each.  Define solving equations by graphing vocabulary or concept  Identify examples of each vocabulary word or concept Louisiana Math Standard (include description): A-REI.C.6 Solve systems of linear equations exactly and approximately (e.g., with graphs), focusing on pairs of linear equations in two variables. Teacher: Kylee Overby-Allen MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign.. REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with no real change. transformation enhancement

Solving Systems by Graphing – Lesson 6-1 1.Login to the computer and open a Word document.  Your header should be as follows:  Name  Date  Algebra I  2 nd Hour 2.Define the vocabulary words in the “Lesson Vocabulary” section on page 364 in the Pearson Algebra I textbook.  You may define the words from the section or the glossary at the back of the book. 3.Provide an example underneath each vocabulary word from the textbook. 4.Save your document file as: firstname.lastname.doc and upload it into Blackboard under the Section Vocabulary assignment. Define the section vocabulary or concept and provides examples of each. This task uses: Learning Objective(s):  Define solving equations by graphing vocabulary or concept  Identify examples of each vocabulary word or concept S SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement

Solving Systems by Graphing – Lesson 6-1 1.Login into the computer and Blackboard. 2.Open the “Homework Discussion” forum. 3.Type one of the homework problems you had an issue with from the homework last night. Be sure to include the whole word problem, any work you completed to attempt to solve the problem and/or specific questions you may have about the problem.  Homework Assignment:  Textbook Pages 367-369, #s 19-21, 32-34, 40 4.Respond to two of your classmates’ posts with the strategy you used or the answer you found. Explain and try to answer all questions, if you can. Post questions from the previous nights homework and discuss answers through a Blackboard discussion. This task uses: Learning Objective(s):  Explain how to write a system of equations from a word problem  Solve word problems by graphing systems of linear equations A AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement.

Solving Systems by Graphing – Lesson 6-1 1.Open Google Chrome and go to the following website: https://mathway.com/graph. https://mathway.com/graph 2.Using the Mathway graphing calculator, graph one of the systems of linear equations from the Practice and Problem Solving Workbook pages 171-172.  Choose one of the following problems: 1-9, 21, 23, 25-26, 28 or 31.  In order to graph, you will type in the system of linear equations one by one. 3.Use the snipping tool in the Windows Start menu, highlight the graph and save the image to the desktop as: group.bothfirstnames. 4.On Blackboard, click “Create Thread” under the Graphing Systems & Explaining Solutions Discussion forum. 5.Use the same name you did to save the picture to the desktop as your “Thread Subject” and upload you graph’s image file in the message box by clicking the image icon and searching for it. Do not post which of the systems your graph represents. 6.Click “Submit.” 7.With your partner, go to another group’s post. Each of you are to work together to write the linear equations for the system and explain the type of solution. 8.Also, respond to another group’s response to another group’s graph. Graph systems of equations using Mathway, an online graphing calculator, and explain the solutions of the graphs in a Blackboard discussion forum. This task uses: Learning Objective(s):  Graph systems of linear equations using an online graphing calculator  Explain the types of solutions using the graph of systems of equations M MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign.

Solving Systems by Graphing – Lesson 6-1 1.Login onto the computer and Google a real-life situation that can be solved using systems of equations. 2.Use a device to record a reenactment of the real-life situation. 3.Upload and save the video to the Blackboard blog. 4.Title your blog “Group # - Real-Life Applications.” 5.Type your real-life situation into your blog. 6.Post the video re-enactment to your blog. 7.Type your explanation on how you could use graphing to solve the real- life situation. 8.Create your graph using the Mathway online graphing calculator.  Use the snipping tool to save the image to the desktop as: real.group#graph  https://mathway.com/graph. https://mathway.com/graph 9.Post your graph to your blog. 10.Finalize and save your blog. Create a blog with a video that represents a real-life situation and solve the situation using graphing. Include all graphics in blog. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Demonstrate real-life situations that can be solved by graphing a system of linear equations R REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable.
