12 Gifted and Talented Information The window for referring your child for GT testing begins August 24 and ends September 25. Sign for a packet in the front office and return it in person before the September 25 due date. Late packets cannot be accepted due to district deadlines with the testing company. 14 Grading Guidelines Major = 50% and Minor = 50% 90 - 100A Excellent work, thoroughly understands concept taught 80 - 89 B Good work, understands concept taught 75 - 79C Satisfactory work, mostly grasps concept taught 70 - 74D Needs Improvement; rarely grasps concept taught 0 - 69F Unsatisfactory work; reteaching needed

16  There are no open replies to teacher messages on Remind.  Your personal contact information is never seen by anyone at the school.  If we need to send specific information to a select few people in the class, a message can be sent to groups of 3+ people  All messages are recorded in case we need to reference them in the future.  Messages from classes will be sent straight to your phone or email account.  Regular text messaging and data rates apply. The district is not responsible for any text messaging fees incurred by the subscriber of this service. Text Message STEP 1: Simply text a code to a number that is provided by your teacher. Each course or group will have a unique code that will need to be entered. STEP 2: Reply to the message with your first & last name in order to identify you on the teacher ’ s list. 17 Wednesday Folders Wednesday Folders are sent every Wednesday. These folders should be signed and returned on Thursday. They contain the following items: –School Notes/Announcements –Graded Papers

18 Progress Reports They are s ent each 5 th week of the grading period. All students receive a progress report. Please sign and return the next day. Conferences are available if needed. Use ParentConnect to view your child’s grades.

19 Student Portfolios Each child will keep a student portfolio. The student portfolio will include various student goals. It will chart student progress. The student portfolio will house campus and district assessments.

20 Home Learning & Planners Home Learning Folders and Home Learning Planners will be sent home nightly. Home learning is due on Friday unless otherwise noted in the planner. Please sign the planner nightly. Home Learning and Home Learning Planners serve as a great way to practice organizational skills and help students develop responsibility.

21 Intervention Third Grade will have our intervention time from 8:30-9:15. This special time provides remediation, additional practice, or enrichment on reading skills or math concepts.
