7 Hate Related Crimes, Enquiries and Incidents 7 Priority 1: To make our area a safer place to live work and visit - reducing the likelihood that people will become victims of crime Over the last 3 years, 71.0% of hate crimes and incidents were racist, 14.0% homophobic and 9.1% disablist Increased level of reported hate related offences over time. Supporting outcomes available Victim satisfaction being analysed at present Independent Reference Group: Hate crime review, including repeat victimisation. 10 10 Public Confidence 10 Priority 4: To promote an effective criminal justice system for our area, delivering a high quality service for victims, witnesses and society Attainment: Current good performance should be maintained Taken from the Crime Survey for England and Wales question: “Taking everything into account, how good a job do you think the police in this area are doing?” The Force is ranked 17 th (a decrease of three places compared to September 2014 results) The Forces result has decreased by 1.1%pts (from 64.7% in September 2014 to 63.6%) Compared to the same period a year earlier, the percentage level is not statistically significantly different Please Note: the vertical axis does not start at 0 OFFICIAL | FOIA - OPEN

11 11 Victim satisfaction 11 Priority 5: To deliver a high quality victim support service across our area Attainment: Improvement in performance expectedForce survey of victims of burglary dwelling, vehicle and violent offences. Sample size set by Home Office. 12 months to February 2015: Overall satisfaction: 83.2% Burglary dwelling satisfaction: 88.5% Vehicle crime satisfaction: 81.4% Violent crime satisfaction: 79.6% Satisfaction levels have stabilised in last few months although a slight non significant reduction over last 12 months. 12 12 Hours of service provided by Special Constables 12 Priority 6: To encourage and enable citizens and communities to play their part in tackling crime and making their communities safer. Attainment: Improvement in performance expected The aim is to deliver at least 150,000 duty hours per annum, distributed across the Force area by the end of the plan period. Hours worked split between Operational and Non-operational duties. Note Data was formally recorded on Dutysheet from May 2012, prior to which timesheets were held locally and not consistently monitored or managed. The table therefore provides the hours of service recorded for two full years available – 1 st April 2013 to 31 st March 2015 OFFICIAL | FOIA - OPEN

13 13 Number of Volunteers 13 Priority 6: To encourage and enable citizens and communities to play their part in tackling crime and making their communities safer. Attainment: Improvement in the diversity of the volunteer base The number of volunteers recorded within the Agresso HR system as at 31 st. December 2009 to 2014, and as at 31 st March 2015 The recording of volunteers on the Agresso system commenced in 2013. Numbers prior to this date were recorded manually. The total number of hours donated by volunteers for the year ended 31 st March 2015 was 11,030 hours. OFFICIAL | FOIA - OPEN
