4 Serious Violent Crime One-Year Milestone Target: 6% Reduction Weekly Crime Levels 01/04/08 - 09/11/08 Cornwall & IOS BCU: +2.6% Plymouth BCU: +53.1% Devon BCU: +6.4% FORCE: +15.8% Three-year Target: To be one of the 10 Forces nationally with the lowest levels of serious violent crime (Currently 13th) One-year Milestone Target: To achieve a reduction of at least 2% in serious violent crime Weekly Number of Crimes YTD Weekly Average = 18 Average Weekly Required for rest of the year = 5 Increase can be mainly attributed to an increase in Serious Assault - particularly Wound or Cause GBH without Intent S.18 which has increased by 53 crimes (29.1%).

6 Total Crime Sanction Detections One-Year Milestone Target: 30% Three-year Target: To be one of the 10 Forces nationally with the highest total crime sanction detection rate (Currently 22nd) One-year Milestone Target: To exceed a 30% sanction detection rate for total crime YTD (01/04/08-09/11/08), recorded 574 Sanction Detections per Week, this equates to 27.8% of total recorded crime. Based on current changes in crime levels, an estimated total of 31,158 Sanction Detections need to be recorded to meet the One-year Milestone Target. This averages at 599 per week. To meet the One-year Milestone Target, an estimated 640 Sanction Detections need to be achieved per Week between 10/11/08 and 31/03/09. This is 66 more per week than the number recorded YTD.

11 Domestic Abuse Sanction Detections One-Year Milestone Target: 50% One-year Milestone Target: To exceed a 50% sanction detection rate for domestic abuse YTD (01/04/08-09/11/08), recorded 64 Sanction Detections per Week, this equates to 45.5% of total recorded Domestic Abuse crimes. Based on current changes in crime levels, an estimated total of 3,589 Sanction Detections need to be recorded to meet the One-year Milestone Target. This averages at 69 per week. To meet the One-year Milestone Target, an estimated 77 Sanction Detections need to be achieved per Week between 10/11/08 and 31/03/09. This is 13 more per week than the number recorded YTD.

Based on current changes in crime levels, an estimated total of 444 Sanction Detections need to be recorded to meet the One-year Milestone Target. This averages at 9 per week. To meet the One-year Milestone Target, an estimated 10 Sanction Detections need to be achieved per Week between 10/11/08 and 31/03/09. This is 2 more per week than the number recorded YTD. Note that the weekly figures at LPA level can be misleading due to rounding.

17 User Satisfaction - Whole Experience (Racist Incidents) 12 Months to October 2008 Three-year Target: To be one of the 10 Forces nationally with the highest percentage of victims of racist incidents satisfied with the overall service provided by the police (Currently 6th) One-year Milestone Target: To exceed 86% of victims of racist incidents who are satisfied with the overall service provided by the police Cornwall & IOS: 87.5% Plymouth: 80.2% Devon: 79.0% FORCE: 80.9%

18 Visible Policing May and August Surveys Proportion of uniformed operational officer's time spent on visible policing activities Year to Date the Force has achieved a visible policing percentage of 64.8% for the Force as a whole. To achieve the target at year end, in each of the next two surveys each officer surveyed needs to achieve on average an extra 20 minutes of their week on visible policing duties (two more boxes ticked in their survey booklets). One-year Milestone Target: To exceed 65% of uniformed officers’ time spent on visible policing activities

19 Movement into New Frontline Posts Chart shows the 200 extra Frontline Posts by LPA Student Officers refers to those within their initial 24 week training period. 44 officers in post 5 in Training One-year Milestone Target: To release 200 police officers back to frontline duties 44 of additional 200 officers in post, with 5 more in training. Overall, 35.7 More Frontline Officers than start of year.
