What does ”fewer opportunities” mean? Fewer resources compared to peer groups due to: -Lack of financial means -No or insufficient educational background -Living in deprived areas -Belonging to ethnic minorities -Physical or mental handicaps -Delinquency -Psychological problems -Difficult family circumstances

Why involve them in transnational mobility? -The democratic argument: inclusion -The pedagogical argument: transnational mobility as a pedagogical tool

Learning outcomes -Intercultural/international skills -Skills and competences in relation to field of volunteering -Personal development

What is needed? -Training seminars? -Platforms for sharing of knowledge and good examples of practice? -Supporting material? -Quality management schemes? -New forms of volunteering? -Research and development work?
