4 Team Highline Podcast featuring Helen Hurn  Created a handbook of rich attribute tasks for our statistics course (posted on the wiki)  New Todd Beamer HS connection  Created a survey to elicit how faculty are now using and teaching the attributes  Upcoming conference presentations on the attributes and SAMS: AMAYTC and the WA Math Conference  Strong connections between RPM and SAMS

5 Renton Update Podcast featuring Jane Goetz High schools have just completed their 2 nd meeting with AYD students from the 2009 summer cohort Surveys have been given to this year’s geometry students (last year’s algebra students) in order to get a baseline for the survey data The data will be analyzed after mid-winter break Teachers in the project attended a training on how to use Agile Mind software for Algebra 1. This curriculum supports the Attributes We are looking at how to connect this work to our Career and Technical Math courses (one example of this is the TMP project that is developing a CTE course that is a viable alternative for Algebra II)

6 Team Seattle Update  Upcoming mid-year review with advisory team: Dave Prince and Thomas Calhoun from UW COE; Bernardo Ruiz (postponed to March)  Trainings on attributes completed with all high school teachers (August - October)  1 hour training on connection of beliefs to attributes completed with high school and middle school administrators (August)  Follow-up high school and middle school workshops and coaching sessions focused on connection of teacher beliefs, high leverage practices, and attributes next week (Feb. 25 and 27) Emerging Needs/Issues/Successes  At least two schools on board for AYD and/or AYD/MESA pilot for Summer of 2010; possibility of two more by next week  Two schools considering Intensified Algebra pilot for 2010-2011

Olympic SAMS Wiki is shaping up Emerging Needs: Developing a task analysis tool.
