2 It was created from an intuition of the rich bourgeois Ignazio Florio, in the moment of magical splendor of Palermo cultural life. The Grand Hotel Villa Igiea, designed in 1908 by Ernesto Basile, one of the greatest representative of Art Nouveau in Sicily, keeps intact its original structure. 3 The Grand Hotel Villa Igiea, overlooking the crystal blue waters of Palermo, is considered one of the most beautiful ten hotels in the world. The hotel, with Art Nouveau interiors, is the ideal location for any kind of stay whether travelling for business, pleasure, honeymoon or a family getaway.

4 INTRODUCTION In accordance with European and National legislative laws relating to equal rights for men and women, “The Grand Hotel Villa Igiea”, promotes equal opportunity in employment for men and women. According to the section n°149 of the National Labour Contract, companies and their employees try to promote a working atmosphere based on mutual respect and fairness, considering unacceptable any discrimination based on sex, origin and opinions.

5 The hotel can have permanent contract staff, fixed-term staff or hired for a day when there is extra work for special services such as banquets, receptions, replacements. For staff recruitment every company must give the opportunity to a trial period during which the salary cannot be less than the minimum stated by contract. The National Labour Contract prescribes a different trial period (from 15 to 180 days) depending on the level of qualification. STAFF

6 WORKING HOURS As from National Contract, The actual working hours set at 40 hours per week divided 8 hours per day. Extra working hours are paid with an increase of 15% of the remuneration per hour. According to the section n° 119 of the National Contract, employees are entitled to daily rest of at least 11 consecutive hours every 24 hours; According to section n° 120, all employees are entitled to a weekly rest period of 24 hours, in addition to the daily rest period.

7 Employees are also entitled to paid leaves for medical visits, interview teachers-parents, weddings, pregnancy, fulfilment of electoral functions, study leave, illness etc. In reference to the section n° 124, workers are entitled to a period of annual leave of 28 days. In reference to article 136, from 8/1/2012, all employees receive a remuneration on a national basis divided into 12 monthly salary plus a 13 payment ‘tredicesima’ which is due to every employee (it is paid in December in addition to the monthly salary).
