Why Do I Need to Update? 1.Access NetMotion (wireless network) used to log unit in through the MDC as well as log into Safetypad. 2.Access Blackboard to take: 1.Infection Control Update 2.EMS Billing/HIPAA update classes. 3.Stress First Aid (Only new members need to take) 4.Other classes will be added in the future.

Step 1 1.You must have an updated PWC user name and password. 1.Probationary members and new senior members may not have user names available right away. 2.Contact Susan if Tech Support advises your name is not in the system. 2.You can update your password 24/7 by calling Tech Support at 703-792-7447. 1.You must advise them your updating your temporary password. 2.You must be using a county computer that is connected to the “intranet”. 1.Station owned computers and MDC’s will not work when updating account. 3.Your user name includes your initials, your officer number, and the letter “v” without any spaces. 1.Ex: rar080196v 2.If your name was submitted without knowing your middle initial you would substitute the letter “x” for your middle initial. 1.Ex: rxr080196v

Step 2 1.After logging into the county computer system, open Internet Explorer. 1.***Other internet service programs will not work properly. 2.Enter the following into the address bar: https://yorkshire.blackboard.com 3.Click on “Courses” 1.Watch the Power Point presentation and take the final exam. 2.Passing score required. Exam can be taken as many times as needed to pass. 3.Passing score recorded at PSA and an updated cert will be sent to the station for record keeping. 4.***See following screen shot examples on how to navigate blackboard and register/take courses.
