5 Creating a Thesis Statement for a compare and contrast Example: Although the Shakespeare’s tragic play, Romeo and Juliet, and the film Romeo + Juliet are based on a similar story and use the same dialogue, there are many differences including the settings of the story, the plot events and the characterization of the main characters.
