3 Course Objectives At the end of this course you will be able to: o List and describe the 3 stages of video production o Identify and apply the components of capturing audio and video o Identify and apply the tools in multiple software o Complete a video project from start to finish.

4 What we will do o Lessons on scriptwriting, storyboarding, graphics and capturing/editing audio and video. o Software we will use is Photoshop, Premier Pro, Audition and Media Encoder. o Create projects from start to finish such as news packages, Promos, Commercials and music videos. o File management and equipment handling

5 Course Expectations o Assigned seating. DO NOT SWITCH COMPUTERS. Push in your chairs at the end of the day. o Mondays and Tuesday will be reserved for lectures and tutorials o Use your block days and Friday to work on projects o Groups of 2. Pick your partner wisely o Football game shadowing o Deadlines for projects must be met. 10 points for everyday the project is late. o There will be tests on the content

6 Classroom Guidelines o Arrive on time o No food or drink allowed in class (water bottles are allowed) o Respect all property and people o No cellphone use during class o Pick up your trash. Wipe down computers. o Complete and turn in all your projects on time o Follow all policies and procedures set by KHS and Humble ISD o Dress code o Bathroom o Tardy

7 Grading System o All tests and projects are weighed equally o Do the work get a 100%

8 Course Fees and Supplies o Course fee is $20 (covers equipment repairs and class material) o Flash drives is recommended (used to store final projects)

9 Equipment and Computer Use o YOU ARE RESPONISBLE for any video equipment that lost or damaged. o Improper use of the equipment or computer will result in a loss of privileges.

10 Equipment Costs o If you break it or lose it, you buy it! o Camera: $500-$5,000 o Tripods: $600 o Mics: $600 o Take care of the equipment like it was your own.

11 Computer Violations o Internet use without permission. Checking e-mails, Facebook, YouTube etc. o Computer games are not allowed. EVER! o Downloading any software or music.

12 Appropriateness o Please get your project content approved by either Ms. Virani or Coach Odom o You may think it is funny, but someone else might not o Be professional in your projects, but have fun doing them

13 Open door policy o Ms. Virani’s door is always open o Ask questions!

14 What do you do now o Get your Syllabus signed by your parents and bring in a check for $20 made out to Kingwood High School or cash.
