2 Idea for a Conversation Justice in Action Committee partnered with Chapel Hill Police Department Decided to host series of public feedback sessions Designed to allow citizens to highlight experiences, thoughts, and advice

3 Planning that Conversation Four meetings in 2010 Feb. 6th, 9th, 13th, and 18 th Four locations Chapel Hill Public Library United Church of Chapel Hill St. Thomas More Catholic Church Hargraves Community Center Two-Hour Sessions

4 Encouraging that Conversation Goal to encourage Openness No representatives of the CHPD Outside Conversation Facilitators

5 Preserving that Conversation 53 citizens attended “Community Conversations” series Justice in Action Committee took notes Compiled Report in March 2010 Copy of report available on Town’s website

6 Report: Questions Posed What comes to mind when you think of the Chapel Hill Police Department? In what ways is the Chapel Hill Police Department active in your community? Are there additional ways you want the CHPD to serve your community? If you think there is a gap between what you want from the CHPD and what you get, how can we work together to close that gap? What else would you like the CHPD to know or do?
